Artur had been eagerly anticipating this day for weeks. He had planned a secret vacation with his young lover: he chose a luxury resort, booked the trip for two, and carefully hid all the documents in the car, inside a folder with the important papers.
In front of his wife, of course, he pretended everything was normal: he prepared a fake “urgent business trip” order, which he claimed was for the upcoming days at home. He thought he had organized everything perfectly—nothing could go wrong.
That evening, he returned home tired. His face showed carefully acted exhaustion, his outfit neat, like someone truly preparing to be away for days.“Tomorrow morning I have to leave on a business trip,” he said to his wife, tightly closing his coat.
She just nodded. Over the past few months, Artur had become increasingly distant and irritable, and his wife had noticed the loving glances of the past slowly disappear. But Artur was so confident in his lie that it never occurred to him: his wife had long known about his affairs.

Her intuition had been right: she had suspected for months that this wasn’t about work. She had no proof, but her gut feeling was accurate—up until that very evening.Late at night, when Artur was fast asleep, his wife quietly went down to the garage.
She turned on the light and searched the car. Within minutes, she found what she was looking for: carefully folded travel tickets for two, with the “second person” listed under the lover’s name. She stood for a moment, completely shocked.
Then she slowly breathed again and went back inside to sit quietly in the kitchen, thinking. At first, she might have considered an outburst: she could have thrown out Artur’s belongings or called his lover. But she chose a different path.
By morning, her plan was ready—no aggression was needed, just a bit of cleverness and humor. Artur was completely unprepared for the real surprise. She filled a few small bags with flour, making sure each package was secure but still suspicious enough to draw attention.

She carefully placed the bags inside Artur’s suitcase, among his clothes, so that they would be harmless but conspicuous. The day came when Artur left. He was cheerful, walking alongside his lover, laughing and chatting, with no hint that anything could go wrong.
He felt that everything was proceeding according to plan. However, when the suitcase went through the X-ray machine, the alarm unexpectedly went off. The security guards exchanged glances, then approached Artur:
“Excuse me, sir, please follow us to a separate room.”His lover looked at him tensely:“What’s happening?”“It’s just a routine check,” muttered one of the guards.Artur calmly followed them, sure it was only because of his swim trunks, shorts, and slippers.
But when the guards pulled out the small bags from the suitcase, his smile froze on his face.“What is this?” asked the guard sternly.“I… I don’t know!” Artur stammered.
The inspection lasted for hours. They asked questions repeatedly, checked documents, called in experts, examined every tiny detail. His lover tried calling him several times but eventually gave up and left alone, disappointed.
Finally, an expert entered the room:“We analyzed the powder. It’s… just flour.”The guards looked at each other, now more annoyed than alarmed, while Artur panted, blushing with embarrassment.
“You’re free to go, sir. But your flight has already left.” Artur dragged his suitcase, exhausted, trying to call his lover—but she didn’t answer. When he returned home, his heart felt empty: his wife had taken the children, and the house was quiet, empty,
and cold—the exact feeling Artur only experienced in lonely moments. And then he realized that the greatest revenge was not a loud argument, not a dramatic scene, but calm, calculated surprise.
Artur was left alone, lost and helpless, while his wife could once again experience the sense of freedom, all while he faced the consequences of his own lies.
