My way to make geraniums bloom abundantly

Geraniums are without a doubt among my favorite flowers. When they’re in full bloom, their vibrant colors light up any space and can instantly lift your mood. But let’s be honest – achieving that abundant bloom isn’t always easy.

People often ask: “Why aren’t my geraniums flowering?” Before diving into bloom-boosting tricks, it’s important to understand what might be going wrong.

1. No sunlight, no flowers! Geraniums need at least 6–7 hours of sunlight a day. Without enough light, they’ll simply refuse to bloom. Make sure they’re placed in a sunny spot – indoors or outdoors. In winter, protect them from the cold.

2. Pruning – the secret weapon. Regular pruning works wonders! Every week, remove faded flowers and dry stems. Use clean, sharp scissors – or just pinch them off with your fingers. This encourages the plant to produce new blooms.

3. Feed them with natural nutrients. Geraniums love fertilizers rich in potassium (for flowering) and phosphorus (for root health). Though many chemical options exist, we recommend eco-friendly alternatives.

Try these kitchen scraps: – Dried fruit peels – Coffee grounds – Crushed eggshells – Dried garlic

Not only do they nourish the plant, they also help deter pests. Place the mix in a ventilated plastic container and moisten it from time to time to help it break down.

4. A surprising trick for explosive blooming Here’s a tried-and-true tip: Add a few drops of olive oil near the base of the plant. The result? More vivid, lush flowers.

Bonus: acetic acid in vinegar also benefits the plant. Mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar in 3 liters of water and water your geraniums with this solution.

5. Used tea bags – small but mighty. Bury used tea bags in the soil. They help retain moisture and release extra nutrients as they break down.

6. Cinnamon – your natural pest repellent. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on the surface of the soil to keep unwanted bugs away.

Try these simple methods, and you’ll be amazed by the results. Let us know how it worked in your garden – your geraniums will thank you! 🌺
